March is the month set aside nationally to focus on reading. The staff at St. Paul has been working on plans to help celebrate this important subject and provide our students with some fun activities to build a love of reading. Look for some specifics in newsletters from your child's teacher as well as on the March calendar. Each child will have a reading goal to work toward.
As I have done in the past, I will offer an additional incentive to students who reach their goal, if 80% of the students are successful in reaching the goal set by their teachers. Each child who is successful with this will have the opportunity to dunk me in a dunk tank later this year when the weather permits!
Most teachers also are happy to schedule guest readers in their classroom, so if you can spare some time, please consider joining us for this. You will not be disappointed!
Finally, as is tradition, we will be hosting a book fair beginning Monday, March 9 - March 12. We are looking for help with setting up and facilitating the book fair during the week of March 9. Look for a "Sign Up Genius" email to volunteer!
We are excited to have a great line up of talent anxious to perform at our Talent Show, scheduled for Wednesday, March 11 @ 6:30 PM. Please plan to join us to be entertained by our young talented Bluewaves! The book fair will be open that evening for an opportunity to shop.
Thank you to our St. Paul teachers for working to plan a fun month for our students!
